NBPGR Recruitment 2025: Apply for Research Associate-I Position in New Delhi

The ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi, invites applications for the position of Research Associate-I (RA-I) under a prestigious research project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The project titled Development of a high-density SNP array for molecular breeding applications in mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) is led by Dr. Amit Kumar Singh, Lead Researcher, affiliated with the Genomic Resources Division. The engagement will be purely on a contractual basis and co-terminus with the project.

The selected candidate will be engaged in advanced genomic research activities with a focus on high-throughput SNP genotyping and transcriptomic data analysis. Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences from a recognized institution/university.

Desirable Qualifications

Applicants possessing the following supplementary qualifications and experience will be given preference:

  1. Demonstrated experience in analysis of high-throughput SNP genotyping, resequencing, and transcriptomics data.
  2. Evidence of scientific research through publications in reputed high-impact journals.

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 40 years as on the date of interview
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India and ICAR rules:
    • Women: 5 years
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years

Salary / Emoluments

  • Monthly Emoluments: ₹58,000/- per month + 27% House Rent Allowance (HRA)
  • The payment of emoluments is subject to satisfactory work performance and availability of funds from the funding agency.
