Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee’s Department of Chemistry invites applications from Indian nationals for the position of Research Associate. This position is part of a research project focused on the “Development of Non-Aqueous Electrolytes for High-Performance Supercapacitor Devices.” This project is funded by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and is led by Prof. Paritosh Mohanty. The selected candidate will engage in advanced research involving synthesis, characterization, and fabrication of supercapacitor devices to improve their electrochemical performance.
Date of Interview
- The walk-in interview for the Research Associate role is scheduled for June 18, 2025, at 10:30 AM.
- It will take place at the Office of the Head of the Department, Department of Chemistry, IIT Roorkee.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be Indian nationals.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry is mandatory. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree may also apply, provided they have substantial prior research experience relevant to the project.
- Experience or knowledge related to electrolyte synthesis, electrochemical characterization, and device fabrication is desirable.
- Candidates with relevant publications or demonstrated research expertise will be preferred.
Salary
- The Research Associate position offers a monthly consolidated payment of Rs. 58,000/- plus eligible House Rent Allowance (HRA)
Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted and selected based on a walk-in interview.
- The interview will assess the candidate’s qualifications, research experience, and suitability for the project.
- Original certificates of qualifications and experience must be presented at the time of the interview for verification.
- Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates in case of equal qualifications and experience, as per government rules.
