The Department invites applications from Indian nationals for a temporary Junior Research Fellow (JRF) role in a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) of Physics, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar. The project involves research on Type ABO3 (A = Mg, Ba, Sr, Ca and B = Ti, Zr) based high entropy ceramics for next-generation energy storage applications. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a Master’s degree in Physics who are interested in experimental condensed matter physics and wish to pursue advanced research.

Eligibility

  • Essential Qualification:
    An M.Sc. degree in Physics from a recognized and accredited university or institute.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Practical experience in experimental condensed matter physics.
    • Excellent skills in data analysis and scientific report writing.
    • Skilled in using graph plotting software along with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Age Limit:
    Preferably 28 years. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD categories as per Government of India rules.

Salary

  • A monthly stipend of ₹37,000 will be provided to candidates possessing NET or GATE qualifications.
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 10% of the fellowship amount will be provided if institute accommodation is not allotted.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting of candidates will be carried out considering their academic credentials and relevant experience.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the interview schedule, including the date, time, and venue.
  • Employed candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of the interview.
  • The institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for interview or not fill the position if suitable candidates are not found.
